Ingredients

This is a current project that I have been working on recently - it's a new design and a new pattern that I developed recently and I have used colors that are perfect for the upcoming Fall season - charcoal greys, mossy browns, deep cream.  Made with sturdy canvas, heavy-duty brushed cotton twill and sumptuous deep chocolate brown leather - luxurious!  Pictures of the finished project and listing in the store will be very soon - this week in fact, so check back with the blog to see the finished bag!  Here's to an enjoyable Monday everyone...

Modern City Tote

New bag in the Fall Collection.  This is a new version of the Modern City Tote, but made extra, super sturdy.  Heavy Duty Canvas and heavy outdoor-gear type nylon make this unbelievably sturdy.  A great carryall anywhere, and a perfect look for Fall.  Oh, and best of all, new custom printing at the bottom corner shows Durable Goods Handmade in the U.S.A. and is an exclusive feature on a Seaside bag.
It's now in the shoppe here:  Modern City Tote.

Back from sourcing

Back from the sourcing trip last week, took lots of pictures near the water.  I use these photos for the blog, and for the inspiration of coloring and texture in the bags as well.  So often I find color combinations in photographs that translate really well to projects.  I found some great textiles, have others on order for samples, and will be working on new things this week!
Will continue to post some of the pictures from the trip and the bags will be in the shoppe as they are designed and completed.  The coming weeks are going to be very busy as I get ready for the holidays and I am also working on booking a few trunk shows around town for the new Fall collection.

On the lookout

Exciting news!  I'm off to source new textiles for the Fall and Spring 2011 Collections.  That means that I will have new designs, colors and styles featured in the next few months!  It also means that I will be out of the studio for the next few days and the shoppe will be temporarily closed.  I will be returning next Monday and it will be business as usual - just with more exciting textiles and ingredients to design with!
Have a great week and weekend everyone !

As Summer fades...

As Summer moves along, I have been working on some new projects, new larger sizes and new textiles for the Fall season.  Experimenting with different weights and combinations.  Having such a great time putting together different colors, textures and found some new sources too!.  It's a little early to unveil everything right now, but as the days and weeks turn into less Summer and more Fall, I'll put up progress on the site, and then list the new collection of items in the store!

Hue, tone and texture

Some pictures at first seem like an odd choice to reference for a tote.  Sometimes pictures and textiles will just sit on my shelf for the longest time, as they cannot seem to find a partner.  Then one day, it all comes together and makes a really nice match.  Like coffee and doughnuts, peanut butter and jelly, crackers and cheese.  But I digress.  This photo was one of those that I really liked at first because of the patina on the table.  but then I didn't like the chandelier over the table, it just didn't seem realistic for a seaside feel.  Anyway, it all came together as an inspiration one day and the result is shown below.  What do you think?
