Mr. Man
Well, I believe this is a first... the leather and linen convertible clutch was featured in a Treasury Tuesday - that's not the "first" part. This particular Treasury put the spotlight on, and featured items for, your man! So there you go; the leather clutches are also perfect for the guy in your life. They do in fact, make a great size to take along in the golf cart or toss in the briefcase. And, they're also a great size to toss in the gym bag for toiletries...you can see the entire collection here

Spring Holidays

...was lucky enough to be featured in this Treasury right before the big holidays this Spring season. It's really a well thought out collection, too, because it shows just how versatile and easy it is to shop online for anyone really. My Ginger linen embroidered Summer Tote is here in the shoppe now for your perusal

i dye
whilst searching the interwebz on a stitching break recently, I came across this fine-artesque still life of a dye arrangement, and since I am currently in the midst of research and development of a number of paint dyes that will be in a new collection as soon as the process is acceptable, I wanted to post this as an inspirationally-hued photo and a point of reference. I cannot resist a photo that has a good amount of seaside-inspired color and aesthetic references. In case you are of the inquiring mind type, I have not posted regularly this week as I am wed to my stitching and developing new patterns, as well as having a number of new items to release at the end of the week. I will post those post haste (!) when they are ready; the goal is the end of the week - and I will be putting all of the new items in the bc shoppe here as they are ready for purchase.

cobalt and saffron
The Canvas Daytoter with Cobalt ruffles and Saffron trim was featured in a Treasury today entitlted Shimmer. Some very nice things were featured alongside my bag as you can see. I am in the company of a very talented group of craftspeople and artists.
Here is a better view of the Canvas bag, as it was just a side shot of her originally...and, you can go here to see all of the other ladies in the store now.
This was one of my favorite bags because of the color combination and how great the lining looked with the trims. The same shade of cobalt grey and saffron, plus the introduction of seaside aqua was so cool. Wanted to keep this one just for me, but alas, the kniving rationale to keep every bag I make is just not feasible. So, she will go home with a lucky soul, hopefully in the near future...

bricolage
...sewing madly through the day today, but on a mind-break I came across these images by sushipot on flickr and thought her assemblage work was worth another look; I would have loved to have found more sea life...*sighs* but lovely indeed.

new digs
THIS is a snapshot of my new store! So excited to have set up my new locale. Actually, I do still have the aforementioned location that I talked of in a previous post, but I am going in a different aesthetic direction. Less is more - clean and modern - de-cluttering...
It's just part of the re-branding that Seaside Cloth & Grass is undergoing currently. Now, back to it...
bluesville
...here is a quick posting of a mini-compilation that shows a few blue tones I assembled as I evaluate the remodel of the Seaside brand. As you can see, it runs the gamut from deep aqua to azure blue to a pale watercolor ice blue. It's a little peek into the borderline ocd that goes into my color selections; whether it's for a design, a textile, a paint, a dye or my logo...April 4, 2011
Green
...it is with some mixed feelings that I post this treasury today that my bag was featured in over the weekend. You see, on one hand I am truly pleased that a fellow team member selected my item as treasury-worthy, but on the other hand, I have started the process to exit from this particular on-line merchant service. As I am sure many of my readers and fellow shop owners have experienced in the last few months, this particular un-named site has become a flea market, complete with the flea portion. The on-line media trail is full of the errors of that commerce site, including privacy infringements, site mis-management and blatant disregard for its 400,000 plus customers each day. Just put their name into a search engine and you can see all of the wacky, irreversible, non-professionalism for yourself. So, I will be distancing my business from them as I phase into new marketplaces.
So enough about that - I have now set up my new shop at this link . It is clean, crisp, concise and completely safe and private for my customers. Very simple and easy to navigate for making purchases.
And I will be updating and remodeling the existing artfire shop here as well. Incidentally, many of the items in the artfire shop are still at the lower price, so if you visit soon before I update everything, you can get a steal deal on many of the larger Summer tote designs!

my own heart
a series of prints from here - always drawn to the seaside images, especially when they are frosted, softened and otherwise aged to a dreamy state such as these little prints are...

berries 'n cream
strawberries 'n cream all through Spring and Summer --
one of my absolute favorite indulgences has now been reinterpreted as a DayBag in the Seaside collection;
...ribbons of vanilla ice cream topped with textured berries; is it too far reaching? I think not - it is after all, a perfect dessert for a seaside afternoon... so there.
no fooling
arc en ciel desature- 'faded rainbows' - lots of rainbow colors plus black and white is what this treasury is all about - and the black and white daybag was lucky enough to be included...
if you go here you will see all of the bags currently in the shoppe.
Enjoy your Friday - no fooling around on this April Fool's Day
