I was very excited to see yet another Treasury entitled "earth and sky" in which the brown embroidered tote was selected to be a featured item.  A gorgeous selection of multi-disciplined talent and a good aesthetic with color and hue.  So nice to be included amongst great talent and art.   Go here to see everything in my shop.

layers and layers of color - blue on green on blue and multi dimensional textures on top of colors - all of this in an attempt to create this look on a blank fabric canvas with various dyeing and reverse process techniques...alas, no luck so far with recreation ...it appears inimitable, and that's always a challenge for me...!

...another custom Parisian flair ruffled burlap tote is off to its new owner.  This one is less deconstructed and the tattered aesthetic has been replaced with a more refined and finished style, but it still resonates with a decidedly French twist!  Go here to see everything that is currently in the shoppe.

This bag features a deconstructed selvedge edge of sailing canvas near the bottom of the burlap base, black canvas pinstripe detail, and it is lined with black and white ticking.  French inspired of course.  Handpainting and hand dyeing is making its way back into some of the recent items have you noticed?  I do love to work some detail painting and dyeing into the bag designs when I can...

evolve

I am re-introducing the hand-dyed sheer fabrics again.  This bag has several tones of pink, champagne, rose and a watercolor-esque nude hue.  The dying of the textiles results in a beautiful overlay of light to dark color and looks great when it is ruffled together.  This style is a deconstructed edge - stitch finished, but meant to wear gently and organically over time.  Meticulously made and durably structured, the slight tattering of the ruffled edges only adds to its French-styled descent and feminine characteristics.

It is with much excitement that I announce that one of my items has made it to the front page of etsy.  Of couse, that may not mean much to 99% of the populus, but as an indie entrepreneur, it's big.  The linen and rouge red leather clutch is on the bottom row, third in.  And, the best part?  The name of the featured treasury is "You're doing everything right".  It would appear that is serendipitously so...

The latest large Daytoter to be added in the Summer Collection.  This one is a dove grey linen with white pinstripes accented with burlap trim around the bottom selvedge and top band.  Also features a taupe linen accent band near the top of the bag.  Lined in sturdy cream canvas, lots of interior pocket space and I added a removable cotton cord around the double wrap strap for extra style points, just in case...

The pictures just do not do this justice, it really is texturally beautiful in person.  Since it's such a neutral color palette it will travel well with almost anything - jeans, sundresses, bathingsuits...
